JobsCentral Numbers an All-Time High

In the current cautious hiring climate amid the coronavirus spread, JobsCentral reported an all-time high in new registrations and job applications in the month of February 2020. We conjecture some of the reasons for our performance and reaffirm our standing as a recruitment portal of choice.

The measures implemented to contain the spread of the Covid-19 outbreak has created a seismic impact on local businesses, especially those from the tourism, hospitality and F&B sectors. In a bid to reduce overheads, many businesses have resorted to pay cuts for top executives, or pushing employees to take no-pay leave. There are also retrenchments, consolidation of job roles and the rise of cautious hiring practices.

Inevitably, the current economic situation has significantly increased the number of jobseekers in Singapore. This is also validated by the data derived from the JobsCentral portal.

February 2020 marked an all-time high in the number of new JobsCentral registrants, as well as the number of jobs applied via the JobsCentral portal. To put things in perspective, the numbers grew 31% and 51% respectively, year-on-year.

This data reaffirms JobsCentral position as the portal of choice for jobseekers and recruiters in Singapore.

Finding a Match

JobsCentral has an algorithm that uses the jobseeker’s career preferences, experience and expectations to recommend highly-relevant jobs. This way, the jobseeker can apply for jobs more efficiently and increase his chances of securing one.

The Job Alert feature allows jobseekers to customise options such as job category, position and the nature of the job. The frequency can also be set, which gives users complete control over the pace of their job search.

For employers, JobsCentral is in partnership with as many as 25 affiliated career portals. In other words, this increases the outreach of your job postings to a diverse and highly-skilled database.

JobsCentral is continually upgrading its features. More importantly, we hope to help more users and employers accomplish their respective objectives and get through this challenging period successfully.
